GFH attended the RICS awards - The Grand Final on Friday 21st October 2011. Shortlisted in two categories - Regional Awards North West and Building Conservation, for extensive work undertaken on The Plaza, Stockport.
The Plaza was awarded Regional Project of the Year North West and the award for Building Conservation in the North West. In the overall Building Conservation category, The Plaza received Commended.
The philosophy behind the project was to achieve an authentic restoration based on detailed research of the original 1930s cinema, return the interior and exterior to its former condition and at the same time introduce modern elements such as new visitor facilities.
